Isaiah 58

This chapter tells us about the fast that God chooses. At the end of this chapter are given promises to those who seek God after this manner.

Verse 12--The repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.

You will either be a builder or a hindrance.

If you seek God and walk after His commandments He will cause you to work with Him in building His church.

Our work is for God and with God.

The strength and the glory of the church has been hindered and attacked over the past years. God is now stirring a people to build with Him the final phase of His church before His return.

Nehemiah chapter one ----He observes the scattering of Gods people and the brokenness of the walls. He is burdened and prays.

Observation, repentance, prayer and intercession takes place.

Verse 8--The good hand of my God is upon me

Inspection--Jesus said count the cost. God put it in his heart to rebuild the walls.

verse 20--faith speaks and the work begins in chapter 3

Opposition comes. Mockers and scoffers--In the last day will come scoffers, and yet we work on. We keep praying and working God will prosper us.

Discouragement is our enemy. We must keep the faith. v.10 The work is for our children's sake and our families and anyone else God will save through our labor.

v.20 When you hear the cry for help run. James said pray one for another.

Poverty was present but God provided. chapt.5
