One thing about being human
is that we change. We have temporal bodies, temporal feelings and we live
in temporal houses. We need God. God doesn't change His likes and
dislikes. What His Word said years ago is still saying today. He is
eternal, that makes the difference. Tonight I will try to expound on
renewed desire. Because desire is so important to us, we must be sure that
what we desire is Spiritual and pleasing to the Lord. Luke warmness is a
threat to each of us. We must guard ourselves from falling into this
spiritual condition. Thank God for what His word teaches us. We can depend
on the Power of His word to teach us Gods ways. Here we are in this
present evil world trying to understand Gods ways and somewhere obtain His
nature to receive His grace and power to really be what He is. This only
comes through prayer and humble submittance to the ways of God. My prayer
is Lord help me to put on the mind of Christ and learn of you, love you
and obey you fully all my days.
Remember we cannot change the past, we must press on for the mark of
the high calling. That takes desire, but God gives us the will to do what
is needed.
I think we lack really loving God with everything we should. Read Mark
12:30 Matthew 22:37 How can we expect to do any thing greater for God if
we don't first even obey God in these areas? Think about it.

Desire has to do with our soul. The soul is the seat of our emotions
and this has much to do with our feelings. Every trial tests our emotions
or our soul to see if we will remain faithful to God when our emotions are
being shook.
Four areas to love God: Mark 12:30
Heart ---affection, faithful commitment
Soul----desire, choice of willfulness, anxious to worship
Mind----thoughtfulness about Gods goodness
Strength--good deeds, praise with our bodies offered to Him
Things that smother or kill our desire:
Prolonged trials
Unanswered prayers
Focusing on the wrong things
Cares of this life choke out the Word
Worldly pleasures and allurements, things we see, hear and touch that
are not of a godly sort. Deceiving spirits, vain imaginations.
