And she brought forth her firstborn
son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7
It was tax season when Christ was
born and there wasn't room for Mary and Joseph to stay at the inn. But it
was all in God's plan that Jesus would be born in a stable. Why a stable?
One would certainly ask.
It was a close significance that
sacrifices were made of some of the same kind of animals that would be in
that stall where Jesus was born. Yet He, the Lamb of God had now come to
earth. More than likely Joseph had offered up a lamb as a sacrifice for
his family in times past and now He was witnessing God's own precious lamb
being born and it probably didn't even dawn on him just really who it was
that he was beholding.
Jesus promised that in such an
hour as we think not He would return. This is one of the busiest times of
the year. There is much more to be said concerning this. I ask you are you
preparing room for the King? Or are you too busy? Think about it.
