Faith
and Praise Assembly is a small congregation of about 60 people who have been
joined together in the Spirit to praise and worship the Lord and serve in
whatever outreach possible. We have been established by the Lord as a
non-denominational church. God has called us to be a worshipping church by
His grace. We are very much Pentecostal in our beliefs and praying to
fulfill the call of God on our lives. We believe there is no other name that
people can be saved by but the name of Jesus. (Acts 4:12) We preach
the Word of God from the King James version. We love families and
individuals and want to be an encouragement to all. We believe in the
five-fold ministry as described in Ephesians chapter four. We also believe
that Jesus Christ will appear one day in the clouds and catch His church
away at the sound of the last trumpet as told in 1 Corinthians 15:52
We believe in baptizing in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins according to Matthew 28:19, Acts 2: 38, Acts 8:15. We are
saved by the grace of God and by His blood. Baptism is an outward witness to
our conversion identifying us with the death burial and resurrection of
Jesus Christ.
Our
outreach ministries consist of a Nursing Home Ministry that is conducted by
different volunteers each Sunday Morning. We also have a food bank and a
clothes closet for those who may need food or clothes. We are supported by
those in the congregation who freely give of tithes and offerings to this
work. It is by Gods grace we are enabled to work in His Kingdom and for His
glory.
Faith
and Praise Assembly is governed by the Word of God, the leading of the Lord
and serving elders. The elders also help pray for the needs of people who
come to the altar for special prayer.
We
also have several preachers who assist in ministering the Word of God from
time to time.
All the
following ministries and helps are made possible by the grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ upon us. We could do nothing without His vision and provision
and the love of His people. We give God all the Glory for the work
accomplished!
We
have a nursing home ministry each Sunday morning for Sunday on Wilkinson
Blvd.
We
have gathered school supplies for some homeless children in our area and
taken them to With Friends Youth Shelter in Gastonia. It is our hearts
desire to minister to youth as well as older people and those in need.
For several years now we have had a food
bank ministry and clothes closet to help serve the needs of the local
community.
In the
year 2009 God is knitting our heats even closer together and helping us to
do more in His kingdom through the Storehouse Thrift Store ministry.
Faith
and Praise Assembly operates as a body ministry. What this means is that
each member helps to encourage one another by phone calls or visits as the
need may occur. This keeps our Pastor from being too overworked so she can
minister the Word of God more freely.
The
praise team consists of Mary Goodson, Sis. Cathy Herring, and Bro. Joe Rogers. Bro. Nathan Rogers and Brother Devin
Henderson rotate playing the drums. Sister Marie's oldest daughter
Allison Dunn ministers through such an anointing on the piano for our
church, she also helps lead the worship. Our organists are Sister Tammy
Rogers and Doris Gibby.
Sister
Marie's youngest daughter Mary Goodson assist in helping lead worship and
plays the drums from time to time. They are both very involved in the
ministry. Their dedication to the Lord and to the church are truly an
inspiration to young people.
We
have Sunday School for all ages. We have children's church most Sunday
mornings during the preaching part of the service. Mary Goodson and Karen
Hawkins are our Children's Church director. We are praying that the Lord
will send others with a heart to work for him in teaching the children and
to work with the youth and adults choirs.
Our
older lady's Sunday School teacher Sister
Cathy Herring.
The
young men's Sunday School is taught by Brother Jamie Goodson.
The
young to middle age adult's bible study class is taught by Sister Marie
Dunn.
The
older men's Sunday School class is taught by Brother Joe Rogers and Brother
Charles Mason.
Tammy
Rogers teaches the children's class for Sunday School.
In the
Year 2009 Sister Marie's husband Eddie joined her in ministry. He has
ministered in a Tuesday night's service and is very active in the ministry
outreach. We are looking forward to what God has in store as we team up for
Jesus.
Thank
God for all His blessings!
God
has truly blessed us with love and strong fellowship ties here. We pray and
hope to do more in the coming year. It is our prayer and heart's desire to
see the body of Christ increase in love toward one another. The love of
Jesus rules at Faith and Praise Assembly. May the Lord bless and keep you
and cause His face to shine upon you. Please contact us if you would like to
come and fellowship. Let's get together to praise the Lord. See our
announcements page for special service announcements.
We
look forward to meeting you and we cordially invite you to come visit us
soon.
