Matthew 6:13 2 Timothy 4:18
This past Sunday morning the Holy Ghost spoke to me plainly: PRAY:
DELIVER US FROM EVIL. Almost immediately I heard Brother Robbie's Sunday
School class praying through the vents in my office. I shared this Word
with the mornings congregation and Oh how God moved and delivered. I just
can't seem to get away from this thought. So, tonight we will look at some
scriptures involving deliverance and prayer. This is an evil day in which
we live. The enemy is subtle, he's tricky. He is so deceptive as he
convinces people to believe lies and brings them into bondage through evil
thoughts and attitudes. Lets not be ignorant but receptive to what the
Spirit says to the churches. If we ever need to be led of the Spirit, it
is now. We must obey. He will safeguard us if we will walk sensitive to
Him. Purify my heart Lord, so I might hear your voice. There's comfort in
closeness. Walk close to God ever reaching, ever knowing that He will see
us through.
Evil---a force that opposes God and His work of righteousness in the
world (Romans 7:8-25), and which is personalized in satan himself--"the
evil one" (1 John 5:19; Matthew 6:13). The word is also used for any
disturbance to the harmonious order of the universe, such as disease
(Psalms 41:8)
Evil must be hated among Gods people.
We must guard against evil:
Thoughts.............James 2:4
Hearts..................Hebrews 3:12
Boastings.............James 4:16
Things...................Romans 12:9
Deeds...................2 John 9-11
Persons................1 Corinthians 5:13

The evil one.........Ephesians 6:16
Ephesians 5:14-21 Numbers 13:32 Psalms 34:13 Amos 5:14 Romans 12:21
1 Timothy 6:10
We must believe God to deliver us from the evil works of satan. There
is also a preventive prayer, lead us not into temptation.
