In John 10 verse 4 Jesus said;
And when he putteth forth his own sheep,
he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for
they know his voice.
In John chapter 10 verse 16 Jesus
said, And other sheep I have, which are
not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they
shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
In the hour we are living in it is
going to be of the utmost importance to know and follow the voice of the
Lord. There are many voices speaking to the minds of people. Many are
following the wrong voice, such as the woman who threw her children into
the bay claiming a voice told her to do so. God speaks to His people
through the voice of His Spirit that He puts inside of us as we yield to
Him. He has spoken in times past through the prophets and apostles. He has
also spoken through His messengers through the preached word of God. Just
as God wants to lead us by His Spirit, the enemy desires and works hard to
confuse us and cause us to lose our sense of right direction. Jesus always
leads us forth with such a peaceful voice showing us what is right. As the
psalmist David said in Psalms 23, He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His names sake. The Good Shepherd's voice will lead us in paths of
righteousness according to His Word. In Revelation chapters 2 and 3 it is
stated several times he that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
saith unto the churches. If you want to know what He is saying to the
churches you must attend church somewhere and be a part of a spiritual
fellowship that is ordered by God. His Spirit
is saying to the church that He is purifying His people
through the fiery trials they are facing. He
is also saying to warn people that have been preached to over and over and
yet refuse to obey His voice.
Just last week the Lord gave us a
message entitled: When God gives up on you.
The phrase God gave them up is used five times in scripture. Each time was
talking about after people were offered the truth and they rejected, God
gave them up to do what their heart's desire was allowing them to live
being deceived and rejected of God. He allowed them to believe they were
right in doing their own thing. Friend, that's dangerous. Scripture
references concerning this are found in Psalms 81:12, 2
Chronicles 30:7, Acts 7:42, Romans 1:24,26.
It is a very serious thing to be
given the opportunity to know truth and serve the Lord and refuse Him. I
pray you will hear and obey His voice today. Another scripture reference
is Hebrews 3:7-19.
I ask you, are you hearing and
following the voice of the Lord? Do you experience the peace of God daily
as you follow Him? He wants to lead you to green pastures. Just pray and
listen to hear what He speaks to you.
